OK, I couldn't begin to do these guys justice for the feat they've accomplished.  I just wish they had a web page I could direct you too, but there is not one I am aware of.  Try googling south pole traverse and see what you come up with.  After four years (that is four attempts) they finally made it from McMurdo to the South Pole with a traverse of seven tractors, and all their fuel and supplies.  The final attempt took them about 40 + days to travel over 1,100 miles.  These guys travelled over the Ross Island Sea Shelf, through the Trans-Antarctic mountains, over some of the largest glaciers in the world and up onto the Polar Plateau at 9,000 feet.  What a journey.  They were kind enough to share these photos with me to post here for you.
